promotional umbrellas on show

At a recent football match I was distracted by the number of promotional umbrellas on show. On the way to the stadium a very heavy shower saw a sudden explosion of extended umbrellas. You could not help but notice them; they weren’t all promotional umbrellas but a large percentage clearly was. Even in the driving rain colourful company names and logos were most perceptible and quite a few of the Company names are still rolling through my mind. I wonder why I remembered such trivial information that was of no real interest to me and yet had difficulty remembering exactly where my car was on leaving the stadium after the match. It really does say something about the impact of promotional umbrellas on consumers perception. If I wanted to, I could contact those companies whose names I remembered but currently I don’t need their services or products. For anyone who did need their product or services it was a brilliant way to expose their company branding to a large crowd of people. If only1% of the crowd of 40,000 spectators responded positively to the branding imprinted on the majority of the promotional umbrellas then that company would certainly do well from a sales point of view. The sea of umbrellas was obvious during the first half of the match and from my privileged seat in the all seated stands I had a birds eye view of all the promotional umbrellas on the terraces opposite. There was a Kaleidoscope of colour ranging from plain colours to striped designs. I found that black print on white background stood out extremely clearly as did the reverse colours. In general you could see the promotional branding on the umbrellas as they remained extended during the rain soaked first-half. I was definitely convinced of the value of promotional umbrellas as an effective company marketing strategy and would now endorse such brand exposure to everyone without reservation. My recollection of that site is so vivid that I can practically relive the experience with the multitude of various colours, company names – mostly abbreviations and company logos. There was green print on white background, Red and black stripes, blue and white stripes and orange and White stripes, All with the company branding in a dominant colour. There were even a few promotional umbrellas with polk a dots and to my surprise the design did not deflect from the logo or Company name. Companies who do not use promotional gifts and promotional umbrellas in particular are missing a trick in their brand awareness marketing strategy. When they realise the economy of using promotional umbrellas to expose their brand more widely and the relatively good return on investment it will make in terms of resulting sales and services uptake, they will regret not having used promotional branded umbrellas sooner to create brand awareness. When you are out and about in future in wet weather keep an eye out for promotional umbrellas. Once they catch your attention you will be forever reminded of their effective role in promoting brand awareness.

Promotional Mugs

Promotional Mugs – Internal and External Advertising Gifts

Promotional mugs remain one of the most common and one of the most popular corporate gift items available in today’s cluttered promotional gift industry – especially in the cut-throat competitive world that is represented by promotional products designed to catch the eye as an advertising desk item. Promotional gifts which demand attention, corporate gifts that scream out to be looked at, brands that are constantly asking the owner of the desk to look at them and remember my name.

For a variety of reasons, the choice of promotional mug is seen by the key decision-makers as the obvious corporate gift product for value, longevity and visibility. A promotional mug is not only a corporate gift that can be branded with a series of logos or messages, has a large print area to attract a complicated message and is low enough in cost to seriously be considered as a mass market printed advertising gift – they also represent a great chance for companies to use them for both internal and external marketing promotions.

A large organisation will often wish to reward loyal customers with a free promotional gift product but for many the idea of using an internal promotional gift to convey the latest company ethos, new product launch or contact details of the new office in a different location can be done by means other than email or press release. The choice of promotional mugs for this important task should not be overlooked for a large desk-based employer. The promotional mug will not just carry the user’s favourite drink of choice – it can become a serious player in both internal and external corporate communications.

Ecommerce Costs

Well this is the part of ecommerce that can make all the difference. Do you go for the cheap and cheerful starter ecommerce web platform, a free web platform or a platform that is customised for your ecommerce requirements. I would always suggest setting the maximum budget possible for development as when your customer base grows your ecommerce store will start to creek if the necessary ecommerce functionality isn’t in place.
Eg EPOS integration is advisable from start as this will enable you to get used to your ecommerce solution when your business is growing online, instead of trying to integrate it when your ecommerce business is booming, as you wont have the time and will be running from pillar to post to carry out tasks that should be automated.
If your quote is very cheap then there is a reason for this. Remember if its cheap the coders will spend less time developing and testing your ecommerce solution, as you basically pay for time. I would recommend looking for previous results and a track record of working with similar type companies. Oh and most importantly your ecommerce solution provider should be easy to talk to, have a contract that protects you and be flexible to your ecommerce requirements.

Cars that cost around 3k will generally do for learners to break their teeth on. But serious motorists want speed, comfort, reliability and professional engineering. You wouldn’t take a banger to the LaMans Series so why should websites be different. You get what you pay for.

Ecommerce and Google

Ecommerce web design is still dependent on your success in search engine rankings, especially with google as its most popular with your potential ecommerce customers. If your ecommerce products are very common it will be difficult to get first page rankings and will require a search engine optimisation campaign both onsite and especially offsite. Taking the Google triangle into consideration your ecommerce website if in the top 3 positions will get lots of relevant ecommerce traffic. If not in the triangle and on the first page you will statistically only get a fraction the traffic. With this in mind your ecommerce website will require lots of planning. How long will it take you to reach the first page? what is the competition like? can you allocate the required budget?
If you have a limited ecommerce budget you can target less specific keywords which will generate less ecommerce traffic but will generate good quality traffic as they have entered your specific key term and will obviously be more likely to purchase from your ecommerce website.

Ecommerce Design

Ecommerce design comes in many different shapes and sizes depending on the ecommerce customers preferences.
So how do you find out your target audiences preferences ?
Its simple ask them ! Carry out indepth research into your market before considering any site structure, as you may find what you like may not appeal to your customers. For example most shoppers now tend to dislike flash ecommerce sites as they take long to load, can be difficult to navigated and high impact visual experiences are not always required to generate maximum sales. Remember flash panels imbedded into your application may prove a better option. Design should in my opinion be geared around search engine optimisation as without shoppers your store is worthless.

Ecommerce and Video

In todays market place all ecommerce businesses want to stand apart from their competition. The obvious way of doing this is to ensure your ecommerce application get the best possible Google rankings. But how to differentiate your business when on the first page is the next question. Alot of time and effort is required for ecommerce applications to gain first page rankings in Google and hence adds credability to the brand and ecommerce store but ensuring they purchase on your ecommerce store is key. In 2011 we will see a steady increase in the number of ecommerce stores showing product video as again it shows the scale of operation and adds to the ecommerce stores customer experience. Video when professionally organised has numerous advantages, with regards ecommerce SEO and ecommerce product display especially for larger more expensive items as shoppers get a 3D visual of the product before parting with their money.  But remember with ecommerce video comes additional ecommerce hosting requirements as through put levels will need to increase. If your current ecommerce website provider isn’t aware of this I would recommend informing them ASAP.

Ecommerce and PCI

E-commerce and PCI

PCI compliance is now a big issue for all e-commerce developers and e-commerce businesses. All concerned must ensure they have an appropriate levle of PCI. The unfortunate thing is some descriptions of the levels seem confusing and may cause frustration until indepth research is carried out. Server scans are required and appropriate paper work must be completed by your ecommerce business. If when processing ecommerce sales you use person not present options then different levels will apply. Good news is that there are third party options to avoid this if you dont feel confident with your inhouse processes and server status etc.
