Ecommerce design comes in many different shapes and sizes depending on the ecommerce customers preferences.
So how do you find out your target audiences preferences ?
Its simple ask them ! Carry out indepth research into your market before considering any site structure, as you may find what you like may not appeal to your customers. For example most shoppers now tend to dislike flash ecommerce sites as they take long to load, can be difficult to navigated and high impact visual experiences are not always required to generate maximum sales. Remember flash panels imbedded into your application may prove a better option. Design should in my opinion be geared around search engine optimisation as without shoppers your store is worthless.
